This is us
Multitasking expert
We are Romy (40), Mario (46), Sherine (6), and Sam Jay (5), and we are living our dream. We've left the traditional lifestyle behind and embraced a flexible, location-independent existence. As a modern digital nomad family, we combine work, travel, and family in an exciting and free life. Since the end of November 2022, we've been living in our expedition vehicle "Ellie," immersing ourselves off-road in the lands and people of foreign cultures. We are open-minded and enthusiastic about meeting new people and sampling local specialties.

Romy has seamlessly integrated her career as a virtual assistant ( www.yourassistant.ch ) and web designer ( www.romy-mueller.ch ) into her digital nomad lifestyle. She uses her experience and organizational skills to complete projects ranging from event organization and time management to travel planning for her clients in Switzerland. A true multitasker, she skillfully juggles work, family, and the demands of travel.

Sherine & Sam Jay
Energy like a Duracell
Our two children, Sherine and Sam, are curious, open-minded, and just as adventurous as we are. They benefit from the rich experiences that travel offers and have the freedom to explore their interests and talents.
What we're experiencing now and what we can pass on to our children is something no one can take away from us. The timing is never perfect, but we've created the framework for it. The children aren't yet of school age, and many companies have recognized the benefits of remote support thanks to digitalization. This was our starting point.
By converting it into our expedition vehicle “Ellie,” we have created the perfect vehicle for us and are exploring the world together as “Ellie and the Family.”

"Ellie"

On our wish list when looking for the right vehicle was:
Mercedes-Benz, all-wheel drive, two-axle, cab with at least four seats and space for a six-meter-wide living cabin. Winning the lottery would have been easier, but we were lucky and found a 1993 Swiss fire engine. This Mercedes-Benz "classic" with all-wheel drive and 290 hp was in very good condition and had only 20,000 kilometers on the clock. We appreciate the quality of Mercedes-Benz from our previous Sprinter, and we can get spare parts for an older truck all over the world. Our "Ellie" ultimately resulted from two vehicles. We bought the living container from a family in Germany and converted it to our specifications. It was important to us that we were technically equipped to live self-sufficiently and also work anytime and anywhere. Kitchen and work appliances, as well as two e-bikes, are powered by solar power.
